Extension Activities

RHWEP

  1. For the past 15 years going on successfully. So far covered more than 100 villages.
  2. Students stayed in a village for six weeks, analyzed the needs of families, especially women and children and planned programme to meet their needs by adopting five families each.
  3.  To implement the activities, students pooled all available resources - human, infrastructural and environmental resources and coordinated with individuals, institutions at village level - Self help groups, rhytu mitra groups and at mandal level - Mahila Mandal Samakhyas, Banks etc.
  4.  Technologies were transferred to the needy clients through short term training programmes using different methods like demonstrations, workshops, folk media and exhibitions.
  5. Documented all the activities through photography, video and local news channels.

Village adoption

  • Village adoption is one of the activities mandatory of ANGRAU. For every three years, a new village will be selected.
  •  Department coordinated with all the other four departments in  planning and organizing programmes under village adoption.
  • The clientele group included children of all age groups, adolescent girls, pregnant and lactating mothers, SHGs and women entrepreneurs.
  • Diabetics, children with learning disabilities, malnourished children, adolescent girls and mothers were groups of special attention.
  • Organized vocational training for income generation and self employment in enterprises like fashion technology, flower bouquet making and food
    processing.
  •  Drudgery reduction in farm and home practices and skill up gradation were also emphasized.
